This was my last canvas painting. I think it was 2007 but I’m not sure. It was shown at the Nucleus Gallery in LA for the 2nd Ninja group show and it didn’t sell, so it’s now at rest back in Canada. Like much of my female portraits, they end up looking Bjork-ish.
Another past work, from 2005 or 2006. I honestly can’t remember.
I did this several years back and in my opinion it turned out ‘okay.’ At the time I was under the gun to pump it out before going on vacation. I was also given the opportunity to use a rare shirt colour that the Threadless cats were experimenting with, so I ran with my usual oddball colour combination.
So over the past week I’ve been searching through the remnants of partial back-ups across multiple hard-drives, trying to salvage 10 years of artwork and other randomness. I stumbled upon this Map of Eternia that Niall McClelland and Lukas Geronimas (Fighting) made for my MOTU: Save By Art show in Toronto in 2006. Man this thing is fucking sick.
I’ve decided to remove the flash gallery front end of my site and replace it with just the blog. Simplicity is good… plus I had a hard drive crash and lost the flash source files, so I couldn’t update it even if I wanted to!
In the crash I’ve been going back through my old, unfortunately low-res artwork and having switched over to just a blog format I figure this is a good time to post some of my old works. So I’ll be doing that over the next week.
