Banter banter banter

I’ve been slowly replacing time spent on FB with Twitter. I have to admit it’s conveniently less engaging. http://www.twitter.com/editevening

Rick Owens had his first menswear runway show today in Paris. He has definitely upped his tailoring for f/w 09/10 and brought the pain as usual with his amazing leathers. I’m not feeling the boots and most of the layered tops/pants were overshadowed by the killer outwear, so for now I’m just planning to kop one of these sick jackets. Call me goth/ninja’d.

homeless yohji

This reminds me of when I once asked this stranger on the street if his cdiems were from the f/w06 collection and he just mumbled something and fell back asleep on his cardboard.

another year…

So it’s another new year and time to reflect on the one that has past. Well for starters, that went by way too fast. Secondly, I really need to paint more. On the EE art side of things I completed 6 works in 2008; 3 pencil drawings and 3 paintings. Quite depressing I know.

On the other hand, I’ve been a workaholic and would put in at least 50-60hrs every week. So hopefully in two-thousand and mine i’ll focus more on myself and produce more work.

Here are the 3 paintings I did finish. All acrylic on wood, 20cm x 25cm being the biggest:

I’m going to start payin respects where respect is due. First off is Melissa Forman from Cleveland, Ohio. Usually I’m not huge fans of young technically perfect, figurative/realism oil painters (aside from Gross, Ryden etc) but I’m digging Miss Forman’s work. Maybe it’s the soft victorian edge or just that slight touch of weird/creepiness. Either way, I’m sure her profile can only increase after the recent Corey Helford show. It also can’t hurt that she is pretty hot too.

I’d rock all 3 of these but i don’t think I’d pay over 700 for worn out cycle boots with a knit lining, even if I did have that kind of coin to drop.

By some amazing chance that one of the 5 people who read this somehow arrived here not by way of the homepage, I’d like to announce that I’ve updated said homepage. It’s nothing much. I streamlined the content and navigation to fall more inline with my current style of work. Everything old has been archived, which is still viewable by way of the, you guessed it, archive link. Enjoy.

f/w 08 Taishi Nobukuni layered pants. I would definitely rock these even though they have one of the most useless textile finishes; excessive wrinkles. It still reminds me of when major brands like club monaco, gap, etc were reselling normal t’s with this permanent wrinkles nonsense but for a more expensive price. Maybe the next time I have a garage sale, I’ll prepare by leaving some clothes on the floor for a couple weeks and then jack the prices up.
